4.4.11

Well, our days in Uganda are winding down. It truly has been an amazing opportunity and we're looking forward to wrapping things up with our NGO partners in these last few weeks. Tomorrow we head back to a district about an hour north of here called Luweero; we'll be there most of the week doing NGO assessments and evaluations.

Apart from that, I am writing to relate another one of our Ugandan activities/ adventures. Every Saturday morning around 9am, Megan and I head up the street to help clean the chapel. This has become one of our favorite things to do, especially because most of our dearest friends in the ward also show up to clean.
One week, we were assigned to mop and squeegee the primary floors (located on the first floor to the right of the garage - you can see Megan standing next to the door in the picture above).
Something amazing happened that day: two superheroes were born. As we begin our simple task, we realized that the dirty floors constituted a terrible enemy: SUDSY MCDUFF! We quickly set to work eliminating the threat and had the floors crime and duff-free in no time. We had become...
Mop Girl and Squeegee Man - the unstoppable elutriating, suds-purgating duo. Never have two superheroes achieved such squeaky cleanness while looking so devilishly good.

Each week we return to have our regular face-off with Sudsy and each week we have a blast humming bits of Phantom of the Opera as we clean the chapel with the wonderful members of the ward.
As always, the most fun comes from being able to associate with our incredible friends. We have come to love them so dearly and relish each opportunity we have to hang out with them (and of course, simultaneously fighting crime makes each experience all the better).
